BONFiRE NiGHT
On 5th November, people celebrate Bonfire Night, in England.
We can call it Guy fawkes' day, or Gunpowder Plot.
Guy Fawkes tried to kill King James. He put gunpowder under the Parliament. He was discovered and arrested. He was executed.
On Bonfire Night, people do fireworks and bonfires, they eat parkin cake, potatoes, sausages, toffee apples....
The day before Bonfire Night, children do models of Guy Fawkes to burn on the Bonfire. It is called « Penny for the Guy».
